Ine is a unique town located in yosa District around Ine Bay, Kyoto Prefecture. There is some famous wooden traditional houses called Funaya, which rich with history as a fishing village. The village is one of the most beautiful villages in Japan.
Funaya literally meaning “boat houses”, wonderful traditional waterfront houses used for boats on the first floor. There are over 200 funaya along the bay, and of course visitors can enjoy with stay at the house. Most of the houses used as lodging, but there are no reservation available yet and many of hosts speak only Japanese. It is will be fun and challenging.
The houses face out toward the sea, visitors may enjoy spectacular view of the ocean or see funaya houses from the sea.
Visitors can enjoy the sightseeing bt two types of boat tours. First, large sightseeing boats or smaller boat operated by local fisherman. Tour with local fisherman may the visitors can get more experience. But, using the small boat tours require reservation at the tourism office of Funaya no Sato Park.
