Inuyama Castle

Inuyama Castle is one of the oldest Castles in Japan. Inuyama Castle was constructed in 1537 and one of only twelve original castle survived intact the natural disaster and wars. There are five castles whose designated as national treasures. Inuyama Castle is one of the other four are Himeji Castle, Matsumoto Castle, Hikone Castle and Matsue Castle.

Visitors can enjoy the beautiful view from the castle, because the castle stands on the top of the small hill next to Kiso river. Entire structure built almost wilth wood and rocks. There are no modern additions that reconstructed the castle such as elevator and other, visitors can feel the atmosfer.

There are aslo conserved feature such as steep stairs. This room used to watch for approaching enemies. This room is the best spots panoramic view over the castle, city, and river.

Inuyama Castle can be reached in 20 minutes walk from either Inuyama Station or Inuyama-Yuen Station.
