Lake Tazawa is a scenic caldera lake that still retains a natural and rustic atmosphere. Located in South of Towada-Hachimantai National Park. The place is nearby Nyuto Onsen or Mount Akita-Komagatake which offer beautiful scenes of the Tohoku. Lake Tazawa is Japan’s deepest lake with depth of 423 meters.
Lake Tazawa exudes a mysterious water filled with sapphire-blue water. Water color occured depending on the season and depth of light in the water. It is change, and bring a unique attraction for the visitors.
Some of the visitors take bus trip to enjoy view from the different spots.
Visitors can explore around the lake by buses or sightseeing boat. There are some of hotels and houses around the lake. Many of outdoor event held around the lake such as jet ski, camp and others. Other than that, visitors can enjoy hot spring ad the foot of Mt. Nyuto-zan.
