Edo-era path that connected of both Kyoto and old town Tokyo called post town or Narai-juku still well preserved until today.
The place known as the most prosperous post town on that time, with many beautiful buildings stretch around 1 km. Narai was popular with the name ” Narai of a Thousand Houses”.
If you interesting to enjoy Edo period atmosphere, you may visit this place. Many of old houses is former residence wich open to public, restaurants, minshuku and souvenir shops.
Easy to access from from Chubu International Airport, there are trains connected on the Mitetsu Cantrair Service to Nagoya. Then change to a local train at Shioriji or Kiso-Fukushima.
